Keynote speaker

We are delighted to announce that Jochen Hummel accepted to be the keynote speaker at TC41 this year.

Jochen is co-founder and CEO of Coreon GmbH. Since 2010 he is also CEO of ESTeam AB www.esteam.se . He is also the honorary chairman of LT-Innovate, the Forum for the Language Technology Industry. He is a well-known, internationally established software executive and serial entrepreneur.

He grew his first company, TRADOS, to the world leader in translation memory and terminology software. In 2006 he founded and was CEO of Metaversum, the inventor of the online social virtual world Twinity.

His role is to build a global company, drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, and to work with his huge international business network.

TC41 Back to London

 

AsLing Executive Committee confirmed today that TC41 will return to One Birdcage Walk in London on 21 & 22 November 2019.

The TC conference takes the form of peer-reviewed presentations and posters and features panel discussions and workshops.

Conference topics

Contributions will be invited on any topic related to the technology used in translation and interpreting, including, but not limited to CAT tools (e.g. Translation Memory (TM) systems), Terminology Management,  Machine Translation (incl. neural Machine Translation (NMT); rule-based MT; statistical Machine Translation (SMT)); use of MT; integration of MT in TM systems; quality assessment; post-editing; customisation and MT engine training), Quality Control, Interoperability, Natural Language Processing for translation and interpreting as well as Localisation, Translation Workflow and management.

 

Other important topics are training (including university translation programmes and the rapidly changing translation industry), tools and resources for translators, how to facilitate collaboration between translators and translation companies, and mobile technologies to support translators’ and interpreters’ work.
