Jorge Estevez leads innovation and technology within the Governing Bodies Department of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva and currently chairs a United Nations working group on the implementation of the XML standard, AKN4UN. Before joining WHO, he spent over eight years at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome. Prior to his work in the United Nations system, he held roles in the private sector at Microsoft and other IT companies, focusing on multilingual product development and language technology. He holds master’s degrees in physics and in information technology from the universities of Seville and Edinburgh.
