This Privacy policy sets out how we, AsLing, the International Association for Advancement in Language Technology, an international non-profit association governed by Articles 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code, registered in the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland, obtain, store and use your personal information when you use or interact with our websites. As AsLing offers services to EU citizens, among others, it endeavours to conform to and apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy is effective from 25 May 2018. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

Cookies

The cookie settings on the Asling websites are set to “allow cookies” to give you the best browsing experience. Cookies are small text files used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping baskets, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. All cookies on AsLing websites are set as “session cookies”. They have no life beyond your current browsing session. You may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. Personal Data Collection and Use of Personal Information

1: No personal data are collected when you are browsing our sites for information. Our server only stores anonymous session cookies. 2: In line with its objectives AsLing organizes an annual conference, Translating and the Computer. It asks all participants: presenters, panellists, moderators, sponsors and exhibitors, as well as individual attendees to register to participate. It collects the minimum amount of information on each of these individuals and corporate entities to keep them informed about our conference series, and as necessary to process their inquires, submissions, registration, and to keep all informed about stages of preparation, attendance and follow-up about our conference. We don’t sell these data, we don’t even use them beyond what is needed. These data are stored on our servers in Germany. We may share the email details with our sponsors only if the participants authorized us to do so on the sign-in list.    3: Asling also maintains a general mailing list with your name and email. An unsubscribe link is provided at the end of each message to comply with the GDPR. Relations with third parties Electronic payments related to our annual conference are handled by PayPal. Please refer to Paypal confidentiality policy in your country for more information. Presentations proposals are stored on Softconf’s server in the USA.
