Who we are
AsLing is the International Association for Advancement in Language Technology. It derives its acronym (and core of its URL from its name in the original, French, language: Association internationale pour la promotion des technologies Linguistiques.

Personal Data Collection and Use of Personal Information
1: No personal data are collected when you are browsing our sites for information. Our server only stores anonymous session cookies.
2: In line with its objectives AsLing organizes an annual conference, Translating and the Computer. It asks all participants: presenters, panellists, moderators, sponsors and exhibitors, as well as individual attendees to pay a fee to participate. It collects the minimum amount of information on each of these individuals and corporate entities to keep them informed about our conference series, and as necessary to process their inquires, submissions, registration, and to keep all informed about stages of preparation, attendance and follow-up about our conference. We don’t sell these data, we don’t even use them beyond what is needed. These data are stored on our servers in Germany. We may share the email details with our sponsors only if the participants authorized us to do so on the sign-in list.
3: AsLing also maintains a general mailing list with your name and email. An unsubscribe link (or instructions how to unsubscribe) is provided at the end of each message to comply with the GDPR of the European Union. Relations with third parties Electronic payments related to our annual conference are handled by PayPal. Please refer to Paypal confidentiality policy in your country for more information. Presentations proposals are stored on Softconf’s server in the USA.
